More than €1.2 billion was invested in Irish commercial property during the final three months of last year, bringing total turnover for 2020 to €3.05 billion. While this is some way off the record €7.4 billion transacted in 2019, it is a solid year in the context of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and is above the ten-year average.
Despite significant challenges presented by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, 107 office deals were completed in Dublin in 2020, with more than half of these transacting in the latter half of the year.
Total office take-up in Dublin reached 21,328 sq.m during Q3 2020. While this is a good increase on Q2 take-up, it is still very low compared to pre-pandemic levels of market activity.
